A mill is $1 of tax for every $1,000 of assessed value.
To estimate your total property tax:
|Take the assessed value, if known, divide by 1,000 and multiply the result by the appropriate millage specified above. Be sure that you add up all three components of your real estate tax in order to arrive at your total millage: County tax, municipal tax, and school tax.(Note: Assessed value is based on square footage and home design. Multiplying your home's fair market or appraised value by .088 should give you a rough estimate of your assessed value)|
